Job summary

Barchester Healthcare seeks a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical) to lead nursing teams across a regional portfolio and drive high standards of care.

You will cover multiple care homes, manage audits, mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement action plans with senior managers. A current NMC registration (RGN/RMN) and teaching or supervision qualifications are essential, along with prior nursing home leadership experience and travel flexibility.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification.
Experience in nursing home settings.
Experience with safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
HR experience, knowledge of sales/marketing, and budget management.
Willing to travel and work across regional care homes.
Compassionate, resilient and focused on quality care.

Responsibilities

Lead teams in multiple care homes and cover leadership gaps in GM's absence.
Develop and implement action plans to meet resident needs and standards.
Monitor care standards through audits and regulatory compliance checks.
Set high standards and drive strategies to achieve goals.
