Job summary

pladis is seeking a Regional Auditor for Safety, Quality, Security & Environment (SQSE) to evaluate suppliers and manufacturing sites, ensuring food safety and legal compliance. The role travels up to 75% across UK, EU, and global sites and requires extensive SQSE experience.

Key deliverables include implementing regional quality strategies, conducting audits, and driving standardisation across the supply chain. ICC/IOSH qualifications and HACCP familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Auditing experience across supplier, service provider and site audits.
• Q&FS management systems including HACCP and third-party certs.
• Material functionality and supplier risk assessment knowledge.
• Confident with IT systems and software.
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conducts supplier and site audits to ensure food safety and quality standards.
• Evaluate materials and supplier risks; highlight issues and drive corrective actions.
• Governance of SQSE management systems and policy implementation.
• Collaborate with procurement, R&D and sites to close audit findings.
• Stay updated on SQSE best practices and benchmarking.

Role Title: Regional Auditor: Safety, Quality, Security & Environment (SQSE)

Site Introduction

In 2021, pladis proudly opened the doors to our vibrant global hub, the MIU Campus. Located in the heart of Chiswick Park, West London. Just a short 5-minute walk from Gunnersbury Station, our campus is nestled within 33 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, offering a welcoming and inspiring environment for all. What will this role achieve?

The role is critical in the evaluation of suppliers and/or manufacturing sites, to supply pladis with a material or product, that is food safe, legal of the right quality and produced on a site that meets the pladis standards of Safety and Quality.

The role holder identifies and advises on compliance and actions required to ensure SQSE standards are maintained within the Supply Chain and alerts the business on any risks.

The role holder also provides support on the implementation of regional policies, procedures, standards & systems.

This role requires travel up to 75% of the time (UK, EU & Global as necessary)

What will be your key deliverables?

• Supports the implementation of the regional Quality & Food Safety strategic plan.
• Conducts audits and carries out assessment of suppliers, service providers and internal sites to a prescribed schedule and in line with business requirements.
• Works towards integration, standardisation and alignment to deliver consistent standards of quality + food safety across/for pladis.
• Audits effective implementation of regional procedures and standards.
• Evaluates relevant materials and suppliers risks and highlights areas of concern where pladis may be implicated or affected.
• Governance and verification of the effectiveness of SQSE Management Systems.
• Reviews completion of closeout of issues raised and the commitment to maintain beneficial business relationships.
• Communicates and drives action relating to poor audit performance with other functions including procurement, R&D and sites teams.
• Maintains a high level of industry knowledge and awareness through external benchmarking, networking and horizon scanning.
• Develops and maintains a high level of expertise in raw materials (ingredients & packaging) and shares this with colleagues and other functions as appropriate.
• Provides CIM (Crisis Incident Management) and supplier performance issues (including vendor non-conformance governance) support & reporting as required.
• Any other relevant duties as required by the business.

Detailed knowledge in quality and food safety disciplines, specifically:

Q&FS Management Systems (inc. HACCP)

Material Functionality

Q&FS 3rd party certification standards

Auditing experience

Confident with use of IT systems & software.

English language - fluent written and spoken

5+ years of experience in a technical role in the Food Manufacturing sector

HACCP (Level 4)

Food Safety (Level 4)

Scientific degree or equivalent

Internationally recognised H&S qualification (such as IOSH/NEBOSH)

What will the interview process be?

• Initial Telephone call with Talent Acquisition
• 1st stage interview - 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
• 2nd stage interview - 90 minutes - a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.

pladis does also use both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process. Some processes may differ, but we will keep you updated!
