Job summary

Galliford Try Building West Midlands & South West is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support day-to-day site management across multiple projects in the West Midlands and South West regions. The role involves coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to deliver safely, on programme and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within the Construction industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the site Manager in the day-to-day management of construction works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Managing designated work packages and project areas, coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Monitoring subcontractor performance against programme, quality, safety, and contractual requirements, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Ensuring compliance with Galliford Try policies, statutory regulations, and health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Supporting site inspection, quality assurance processes, and the close-out of defects.
• Maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the wider project team.
• Contributing to the successful delivery of refurbishment, conservation, and new-build projects within challenging live and city-centre environments.
