Job summary

Dyson Institute is seeking a Refurb Operative to process returned products through refurbishment, ensuring safety, quality and cosmetic standards are met. You will inspect, repair, test and pack items, following strict procedures and health & safety rules.

The role involves 07:15–17:30, 4 days on, 4 days off, including weekends and bank holidays. You will help maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement across refurbishment workstations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, assembly, repair, or refurbishment environment.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow documented processes and work instructions.
  • Basic IT skills and experience recording information accurately.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work to productivity and quality targets.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect returned products for visual, cosmetic and functional quality and conduct inspections.
  • Perform electrical safety checks and function tests where required.
  • Identify defects and replace damaged components; refurbish per work instructions.
  • Record results and refurbishment outcomes; ensure products meet standards.
  • Assist with packing, labeling, palletising and preparing products for dispatch.
