Job summary

Stop Domestic Abuse in East Hampshire is seeking a part-time role to plan and deliver age-appropriate structured play for children in refuges, and provide crèche support for group activities. The role supports women and children, developing individual care plans and helping them work through traumatic experiences.

Based in refuges, you will work with mothers to support the mother/child relationship and empower families to move toward their goals. Appointment is permanent and community-based.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering age-appropriate structured and free play activities to children and young people living in refuges.
• Delivering crèche support for group work delivered in the refuges and the community.
• Supporting the Support Worker – Children and Young People Specialists/Refuge Specialists in creating the individual support plans with the women and children living in the refuge and supporting and empowering them to achieve their goals.
• Working in partnership with individual mothers in the refuge regarding particular needs of their children.
• Helping children begin the healing process of working through their traumatic experiences of domestic abuse and change.
• Providing support to women in promoting the mother/child relationship.
