Job summary

Staffline in Northampton is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to maintain, service and repair refrigeration systems on supermarket contracts. You will work across customer locations and support HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate documentation.

The role requires an on-call rota (1:4), a time-served apprenticeship, and relevant refrigerant handling qualifications.

Qualifications

• Time Served Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification required.
• Approved Training Program completion.
• Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate.
• Skill Card held.
• Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call rota (1:4).
• Full driving licence held.
• Experience using a PDA system.
• Able to read technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and response times.
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise line manager with replacements.
• Ensure PPM schedules are completed accurately and on time.
• Complete all technical and compliance paperwork.
• Order and fit parts per company procedures.
• Inform GSMs of issues affecting store operations and maintain partnerships.
• Carry out surveys and compile reports for refrigeration supervisor/RFM.
