Job summary

Project Start Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across multiple customer sites in the Manchester area. You will be the first point of response for service and maintenance activities, ensuring refrigeration and related systems meet safety and performance standards.

The role requires substantial hands-on experience with refrigeration, electrical, and HVAC systems, plus a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

NVQ / City & Guilds in Refrigeration or related discipline.
Refrigerant Handling qualification (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate).
Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, air conditioning, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of refrigeration equipment at customer locations.
Service, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment with refrigeration circuits.
Prioritise maintenance tasks to meet response times and SLAs.
Identify non-repairable faults and report findings with replacement recommendations.
Ensure PPM schedules are completed within timescales.
Complete and maintain technical, compliance, and service documentation.
Participate in out-of-hours standby rota and cover for holidays/unforeseen circumstances.
Support 24/7 service provision through planned/extended hours as required.
