Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales.
• Identify non‑repairable faults and advise the Line Manager.
• Ensure PPM schedules are completed accurately.
• Maintain all technical and compliance paperwork up to date.
• Order and fit parts as prescribed by company procedures.
• Advise on any issues likely to affect store operations.

Skills

NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification

Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £51,027.59 (including on‑call standby 1:4)

Type: Permanent

My client is looking for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join the team, working on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role involves maintaining, servicing, and repairing refrigeration equipment at customer locations and providing assistance with HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• Identify non‑repairable faults, promptly advise the Line Manager with recommendations for suitable replacements.
• Ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and all necessary paperwork is completed accurately according to procedures.
• Maintain all technical and compliance paperwork up to date.
• Order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
• Advise GSMs of any repair, maintenance, and installation issues likely to affect store operations, building rapport and promoting partnership.
• Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/RFM.

Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification
• Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate
• Skill Card
• Flexible to be part of the 24/7 on‑call rota every 1:4 weeks.
• Full driving licence.
• Experience using a PDA system.

40 hour week
