Position: Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Scotland – National travel required

Salary: Up to £48,000 DOE

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Retail Refrigeration Engineer to join a leading national contractor covering supermarket and retail refrigeration sites across the UK. The role involves service, maintenance, and repair of a variety of refrigeration systems, including CO₂, hydrocarbon, and F‑Gas based systems. The engineer will support long‑standing clients such as Aldi, Scotmid COOP and WHSmith.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular service, maintenance and repair tasks on refrigeration systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in high‑pressure CO₂, hydrocarbon, and other F‑Gas systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and client specifications.
  • Provide door‑to‑door travel to client sites across Scotland.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a refrigeration engineer in retail environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of CO₂ and hydrocarbon systems.
  • F‑Gas Category 1 certification essential.
  • Desirable: City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel across Scotland.
Salary & Benefits
  • Up to £48,000 DOE.
  • 40‑hour week.

  • Call‑out rates: £200 standby (1‑6) growing to £200 (1‑8).
