A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer to design and propose light industrial and commercial systems. This role involves detailed design work, equipment selection, and managing project handovers. While mainly remote, attendance at the Leicester office and site visits are required. Ideal candidates will have experience in CO2 systems and strong engineering skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in cold room heat load calculations.
• Ability to produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings.
• Knowledge of equipment selections and pipe work sizing.

Overview

We are currently seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer ideally based in the Midlands

To design and propose light industrial and commercial systems. Detailing costs and designs to customers while meeting legislative and customer specific requirements. To create a design from an initial brief and/or drawing, whilst adhering to the latest company and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Produce detailed design, consisting of but not limited to:

• Cold room heat load calculation
• Cabinet heat load calculations
• Produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings
• Equipment selections and pipe work sizing

Knowledge of CO2 systems essential, Glycol/Chiller experience desirable but not essential.

Produce data for Design of Contracts project handover including:

• Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule
• Identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4
• Calculate system refrigerant charge
• Produce high level programme of works and high level phasing if required

This is a remote working role but attendance at the Leicester office will be required as will site visits and surveys.

Take on projects as and when required and see them through to successful completion
