A leading engineering firm is seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer in the Midlands. This role involves designing light industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, producing detailed calculations, and managing projects. Candidates should have knowledge of CO2 systems and capability in producing engineering sheets. The position is remote but will require attendance at the Leicester office for site visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in producing detailed designs and calculations for refrigeration systems.
• Ability to create engineering sheets and isometric drawings.
• Project management skills to see projects through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Produce cold room heat load calculations and cabinet heat load calculations.
• Create equipment procurement schedules and inform compliance teams.
• Calculate system refrigerant charges and produce high-level programmes of work.

Overview

We are currently Seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer ideally based in the Midlands

To design and propose light industrial and commercial systems. Detailing costs and designs to customers while meeting legislative and customer specific requirements. To create a design from an initial brief and/or drawing, whilst adhering to the latest company and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Produce detailed design, consisting of but not limited to:

• Cold room heat load calculation
• Cabinet heat load calculations
• Produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings
• Equipment selections and pipe work sizing

Knowledge of CO2 systems essential, Glycol/Chiller experience desirable but not essential.

Produce data for Design of Contracts project handover including:

• Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule
• Identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4
• Calculate system refrigerant charge
• Produce high level programme of works and high level phasing if required

This is a remote working role but attendance at the Leicester office will be required as will site visits and surveys.

Take on projects as and when required and see them through to successful completion
