Qualifications

Job description

Due to continued growth, we're seeking a talented Design Engineer to my clients cooling engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced refrigeration design professional looking for a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities

• Detail Design of Cold room heat load calculation, cabinet heat load calculations, produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings, equipment selections and pipe work sizing
• Produce data for Design of Contracts project handover including: Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule, identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4, calculate system refrigerant charge, produce high level program of works and high level phasing if required.

About You

• Proven experience in refrigeration system design - ideally ammonia, CO₂, or other natural refrigerant systems.
• Knowledge of industrial refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and system efficiency.
• Competent in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a hands‑on, practical approach.

This position is remote based but you must be willing to travel to the Leicester office when required.
