What You’ll Do

As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our customers’ systems running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned service and maintenance on a wide range of refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems.
  • Diagnosing faults, identifying solutions, and delivering timely, effective repairs.
  • Installing, testing, and commissioning new systems to the highest industry standards.
  • Completing refrigerant recovery, evacuation and recharging work safely and accurately.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and representing Pitkin & Ruddock with professionalism.
  • Maintaining detailed service records and ensuring full compliance with company procedures.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technologies, equipment and best practices.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contractors to deliver projects efficiently and safely.
  • Consistently adhering to our robust Health & Safety standards.
What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for engineers who demonstrate both technical ability and pride in their work. You will have:

  • Proven experience as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service Engineer.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial refrigeration and AC systems (including walk‑ins, bottle coolers and ice machines).
  • Confident mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Sound understanding of refrigerant handling and recovery procedures.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Great communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
  • A valid UK driver’s licence.
  • Relevant qualifications such as F‑Gas, NVQ, or City & Guilds.
