Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service / Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £38,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)

Location: Cambridge

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

My client is a long-established and successful contractor in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. They are seeking a proactive, reliable Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a major site in Cambridge.

This role is ideal for an engineer who is confident with planned preventative maintenance and routine service work, with occasional support on reactive breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF units, water chillers and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose faults, repair equipment where possible, or recommend appropriate remedial action.
  • Complete all required paperwork and service reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work independently or as part of a small onsite team.
  • Participate in the emergency call‑out rota (one allocated day per week under the site rota system).

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
