Job summary

City of London Academies Trust is seeking a Reflection Room Manager to oversee the Reflection Room’s daily operation, ensuring a calm, secure and highly structured environment. You will supervise students to maintain silent, independent work and high standards of behaviour at all times, implementing behaviour systems consistently.

You will work closely with pastoral and teaching staff, monitor behaviour with accurate records, and report trends to the Behaviour Team and Senior Leadership Team.

  • Monitor and record student behaviour, report trends to the Behaviour Team and SLT.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents about placements, expectations and outcomes.

Job description

The Reflection Room Manager will be expected to:



  • Oversee the daily operation of the Reflection Room, maintaining a calm, secure and highly structured environment.

  • Supervise students and ensure silent, independent work and high standards of behaviour at all times.

  • Implement behaviour systems consistently, including Reminder, Warning and Fail.

  • Monitor student behaviour and maintain accurate records, identifying trends and reporting to the Behaviour Team and Senior Leadership Team.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents regarding placements, expectations and outcomes.

  • Support students to reflect on their behaviour, facilitating restorative conversations and successful reintegration into lessons.

  • Work closely with pastoral and teaching staff to address underlying behaviour needs and reduce repeated placements.

  • Assist with the administration of the Behaviour Team, including communication, data tracking and reporting.

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment that upholds the academy's high standards, ethos and culture.


  • Participate in training and development and support staff in effective behaviour management approaches where appropriate.

You will be committed to creating an environment that promotes academic, creative, sporting, linguistic and personal achievement., The role is covered by part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
