Job summary

Granta Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our night nursing team as a Referral Night Nurse.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality, ward-based nursing care to inpatients overnight within a specialist referral centre. You will monitor patients, ensure comfort and continuity of care, and work with experienced night nurses and PCAs, with specialist support available when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be an RVN registered with the RCVS.
• Experience in ward-based nursing care.
• Comfortable working overnight in a referral setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide ward-based nursing care to inpatients overnight.
• Monitor inpatients and report changes to the duty vet.
• Administer treatments and fluids as directed by the on-call vet.
• Maintain accurate patient records and handover to day team.
• Support patient comfort, hygiene and welfare overnight.
• Collaborate with PCAs and liaise with the on-call team.
• Keep clinical areas clean and compliant with protocols.
