Job summary

A local government authority in Torquay is looking for a part-time Referral Co‑ordinator to join their Placements and Contract Team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and resilient, able to support young people by sourcing appropriate provisions. This role involves effective communication with various professionals and requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work to deadlines. Compensation: £26,403 - £28,142 / year

Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Placements and Contract Team for a part-time (29.6 hours per week) post. We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and resilient Referral Co‑ordinator to source appropriate provisions for our young people. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and a team player with excellent communication skills, able to work to deadlines, and support the team with a varied and busy workload. You will be liaising with professionals both internally and externally, building up knowledge and networks.

This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions which have not been filtered in line with legislation, plus any information held by local Police that is considered relevant to the role.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

Knowledge
  • Understanding of Every Child Matters and Change for Children Agenda.
  • Knowledge of the legislation affecting the provision of safeguarding services to children and families as identified within the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and the NHS and Community Care Act 1990.
  • Understanding of the framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families.
  • An understanding of basic human needs, cultural, physical, emotional and social.
  • Knowledge of case recording systems such as Liquid Logic.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience of dealing with the public, either through Health, Education, Social Services, Voluntary Agency work.
  • Child Protection Emotional Abuse and Neglect.
  • Educated to GCSE/O Level standard or equivalent or above.
  • Evidence of consistent pattern of learning from education, training and expertise.
