Job description

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and business-minded Recruitment and Shift Booker to join our team at Homecare Gurus. You will play a key role in ensuring our clients receive high-quality staff on time. This role combines candidate recruitment and shift allocation, requiring excellent organisational, communication, and people management skills.

Job Purpose

To oversee the company's recruitment process, ensuring that we have right care workers to match shifts allocated. This is primarily based on skills sets, relevant experience and distance from work location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, screen, and interview healthcare workers (carers, support workers, nurses).
  • Conduct right-to-work, DBS, and reference checks in line with compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a pipeline of available candidates to meet urgent client needs.
  • Effective and timely handover to the onboarding team.
  • Complete, organise and maintain records including candidate applications and compliance documents.
  • Manage incoming shift requests from care homes and healthcare providers.
  • Allocate and confirm staff to shifts in line with client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of bookings on the scheduling system.
  • Communicate promptly with care workers regarding shift offers, confirmations, or cancellations.
  • Handle last-minute cancellations and rebook shifts quickly to minimise client disruption.
General
  • Build strong relationships with both clients and care workers.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to queries professionally.
  • Work closely with the wider team to meet weekly/monthly booking targets.

Working Conditions
  • Full-time position, spread over 7 days (40hrs) with 1 weekend off each month.
  • Fully remote until January 2026 with daily team meetings and support.
  • Occasional overtime during busy financial cycles or reporting deadlines.
