A recruitment agency specialized in Engineering & Manufacturing is looking for a Recruitment Consultant to manage and grow client relationships in Norfolk & Suffolk. This fully remote role offers a base salary of £25k–£35k plus uncapped commission, with opportunities for career progression. Ideal candidates will have recruitment experience and a proactive, phone-first approach. Recruitment Consultant - Engineering & Manufacturing
📍 Remote-first (Norfolk/Suffolk territory) | One day/week in Colchester office
Here's the reality:
You'll be taking over an established desk in Norfolk & Suffolk, placing mid-to-senior technical roles across Engineering & Manufacturing. Think Mechanical Design Engineers, Production Managers, Quality Engineers, Operations Directors - the roles that actually keep factories running.
This is a 360 role. You'll own the full process: business development, headhunting, client management, offer negotiation. No hand-holding, no order-taking. If you want a cushy job where leads are spoon-fed, this isn't it.

What you'll be doing:
Split: Roughly 60% existing clients, 40% new business (but you'll be expected to grow the new business pipeline fast).
You'll love this if you:
✅ Have recruitment experience (ideally Engineering, Manufacturing, or technical sectors – but we'll train the right attitude)
✅ Are phone-first - emails are fine, but deals close on calls
✅ Are commercially sharp - you understand margin, urgency, and how to close
✅ Want to own your results - no blame culture, no excuses, just performance
✅ Thrive in small, agile teams - we're 3 people now, growing to 5+ in 12 months
You won't love this if you:
❌ Need constant direction (we'll train you, but you need to self-manage)
❌ Prefer corporate structure (we move fast, iterate, and don't do politics)
❌ Think "business development" means sending LinkedIn messages and waiting
