The Family Mental Health Team (FMHT) has an exciting opportunity for a Recruit to Train Trainee Systemic Practitioner (conduct) to join our team as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programme (formerly CYP-IAPT).

Role Overview

Recruit to Train is a government‑funded initiative aiming to grow the child mental health workforce. NHSE covers salary and training costs for a 1‑year post, allowing services to employ trainees to aid in implementing new or expanding existing specialist pathways to bridge the gaps in CYP mental health support.

Responsibilities

• Commit to the CYP Psychological Training Programme core principles: accessibility, accountability, participation, awareness and evidence‑based practice.
• Provide inclusive and effective services for children and young people.
• Hold an appropriate training caseload and complete the necessary assignments to meet the course requirements.
• Work with clients in the service, applying weekly teaching into practical clinical interventions and making a direct impact on families.

Qualifications

• Academic background and relevant experience that meet KCL training requirements.
• Visa approval (if applicable).
• Successful application to the University‑led training course and the role within a participating mental health service.

Training Program

The post holder will participate in the 1‑year CYP Psychological Training Programme, prepared by King’s College London. The programme is not a standalone CYP MH training course; candidates must apply for both the University‑led course and the role.
