Activities - Dee View Court Care Home

Contract: Full Time Salary: £12.60 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 37.5

Dee View Court Care Home provides specialist neurological care and rehabilitation for adults with complex needs. Our home offers a warm, supportive environment where residents are encouraged to live life to the fullest through personalised care, meaningful activity and compassionate support.

We are now looking for a dedicated Recreational Therapy Assistant to join our team and help create purposeful, engaging and fulfilling experiences for our residents.

Your Role

As a Recreational Therapy Assistant, you will support residents to take part in social, therapeutic and recreational activities that reflect their interests, preferences and goals. Working as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help plan and deliver sessions that support cognitive, emotional, physical and social wellbeing.

You will encourage independent choice, promote residents’ rights, support self care where possible and ensure activities are meaningful for each individual. You will monitor residents’ wellbeing, communicate any changes to senior colleagues and maintain a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for residents, families and visitors.

What We Are Looking For
  • Understanding of health or social care work
  • Experience supporting people in a care setting or similar role
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, person centred activities
  • Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with a wide range of people
  • Ability to review and adapt sessions based on residents’ needs
  • A team focused approach
  • Level 2 in Care or related training is desirable but not essential
