Recovery Worker (Community Drug and Alcohol Service (Ref: 0080ZB))

Salary starts at £25,000 per annum and will rise each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,000 per annum. The closing date for applications is 31st December 2025; this advert may close early should sufficient applications be received.

Main duties of the job

We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall's most excluded and disadvantaged people. Successful candidates will work as part of the adult community team, alongside in-house services which include outreach, hospital, clinical, criminal justice and a residential rehabilitation facility.

About the role

Our Recovery Workers play a vital role in supporting clients to identify their goals, ambitions, and passions. You'll work with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and guide them on their path to recovery. This is a frontline role at WithYou, where you will provide continuity of care through effective partnership working, care coordination, key work responsibilities, and intervention delivery. You will manage an active caseload, connecting quickly with clients and ensuring they’re always treated with respect and dignity.

Essential skills
  • Compassionate and motivated individual with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Demonstrable experience working within health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist settings, or a clear motivation for wanting to work in the drug and alcohol sector.
  • Successful track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service.

Requirements
  • Have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months.
  • Have demonstrable experience of working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting.
  • Successful track record of working or volunteering with people who have experienced substance misuse issues.
  • Have a driving licence with access to a vehicle; you will need to ensure business use is added to your insurance policy.
  • Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed.
  • Be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Be IT competent.
  • Able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion.
  • Be happy to support other With You locations when required.
  • Required to work occasional Saturdays.
