Job summary

RAC is seeking a Recovery Driver in the United Kingdom to support members on the roadside, ensuring safe and professional recovery of vehicles. You will be at the frontline, handling a range of situations with strong problem‑solving and situational awareness.

A category C (HGV 2) licence and Driver CPC are required, along with tachograph card and comfort with new vehicle tech. The role offers a 4 on/4 off rolling shift pattern (08:00-20:00 / 11:00-23:00) with a competitive salary and benefits

Qualifications

• Must hold a category C driving licence (HGV 2).
• Driver CPC qualification is required.
• Digital drivers/tachograph card is mandatory.
• Excellent vehicle handling and safe driving under varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Repair and recover vehicles for RAC members at roadside.
• Ensure safety of self and members during operations.
• Utilise modern equipment and on-board technology to assist recovery.

About The Role

£42,758.32 – Guaranteed minimum £37.396.18 (Inclusive of £5,000 London Weighting allowance where eligible) – 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern - 0800-2000 / 1100-2300

As an RAC Recovery Driver, you will be on the front-line looking after our members whose vehicles cannot be repaired at the roadside. You will be an integral member of RAC, and key to our continued growth and delivery of exceptional service!

• Naturally, you will get a real kick out of helping people and have a passion fordealing with a variety of people andtaking control of the situation in a professional and sensitive manner.
• You are happy working efficiently on your own with the support of the RAC behind you, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of our business and ultimately our members.
• A logical thinker who enjoys problem solving and can focus on the task at hand under potentially dangerous conditions.
• Great situational awareness, ensuring the safety of self and members, to minimize risk of accident or injury.
• You will have excellent vehicle handling skills and a fan of driving in all conditions!
• You’ll have a full drivingcategory C driving licence (HGV 2) as a minimum,along with aDriver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification,and yourdigital drivers/tachograph card.
• You embrace new vehicle technology and are not adverse to using modern computerised equipment, as well as the traditional favourites!
