Job summary

Change Grow Live in Wisbech is seeking a Recovery Café Motivator to support individuals on their recovery journey in our welcoming café setting. You will act as a consistent face in the café and signpost service users to relevant support within the community, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The role is ad hoc and sessional, paying £15.11 per hour. You will engage with people affected by drug and alcohol use, build local links, maintain records, and work with volunteers

If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Recovery Café Motivator to support individuals on their recovery journey within our welcoming café environment.

The main function of the Recovery Café Motivator role will be to be a welcoming and consistent face in the café area and to signpost service users within local communities to relevant support agencies, so good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Renumeration: £15.11 per hour

Responsibilities

About the role:

• Engage with individuals affected by drug and alcohol use, including those not currently accessing support services.
• Build strong links with local communities, partner organisations, and community-based projects.Support individuals and families to identify recovery goals and access appropriate support.
• Promote awareness of local services and signpost people to relevant agencies and resources.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and peer mentors to enhance recovery opportunities.
• Facilitate and support group activities, recovery-focused interventions, and service user involvement.
• Maintain accurate records and collect data in line with organisational requirements.
• Participate in team meetings and supervision, contributing to shared learning and good practice.
• Manage a small caseload of Tier 2 service users, providing ongoing support throughout their recovery journey.
• Provide a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment within the Recovery Café and local community settings.

About you:

• This role would suit someone with lived experience of drug and/or alcohol misuse who is passionate about supporting others on their recovery journey.
• Have an understanding of delivering high-quality support services, strong links within local communities
• Ability to manage administrative and data-related tasks effectively.
• Be a confident communicator.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining professional boundaries in community and lone-working settings.
• The role requires flexibility, resilience under pressure, and a compassionate, non-judgemental approach to supporting service users.
• Knowledge of local services and the surrounding area would be advantageous.
