A leading healthcare provider in Colney is seeking a highly organized Receptionist/Administrator to support the Urology department. This role includes managing appointments, maintaining patient records, and providing reception support. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and a methodical approach. This is an exciting opportunity for a conscientious, enthusiastic, highly motivated, and organized individual to join the Urology department. Urology is a busy and innovative specialty, which treats problems of the urinary system and the genitourinary tract. This is a permanent Receptionist/Administrator position based within our Norfolk Physiology Unit, working alongside our Continence Specialist Nursing Team within the Urology Department and our friendly, experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated, and organized administrative Norfolk Physiology team.
The successful candidate will have a methodical approach to work, be extremely well-organised, and have a flexible attitude incorporating our Trust PRIDE values. Good communication skills are essential to this post, as the successful candidate must be able to work well both in a team and independently.
This position is required to provide critical administrative and reception support to the Continence Service, with a primary focus on managing a significant and growing waiting list, much of which is procedure-based and income-generating. The post-holder will book outpatient appointments and procedures, contact patients, maintain and update records, and cover front-facing reception duties on the Norfolk Physiology Unit when needed.
The candidate will be the first point of contact for all appointment bookings and will liaise with the relevant clinicians as appropriate. The administrator is responsible for ensuring the correct and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), observing the rules of ‘real time data entry’.
The reception aspect is an essential part of the clerical and admin support for the department and will include meeting and greeting patients on arrival, answering telephone enquiries, and creating, amending, and completing appointments.
