Job Introduction

We are looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team at the HMRC Bristol

In this varied role, you'll be the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a warm welcome and delivering excellent service. You'll also support the wider Sodexo team by carrying out a mix of reception, and administrative tasks to keep our facilities running smoothly and efficiently.

What you'll do
  • Provide a high standard of customer service as the first point of contact for all visitors and colleagues.

  • Manage the setup, refresh, and clear-down of meeting rooms throughout the day.

  • Serve and replenish food and beverages for meetings and events as required.

  • Carry out general receptionist and administrative tasks, including answering calls, processing emails, filing, and organising paperwork.

  • Ensure meeting rooms, reception areas, and common spaces are clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times.

  • Follow all Health & Safety, COSHH, and food safety procedures, including correct use of equipment and chemicals.

  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns immediately.

  • Assist with the lifting and movement of furniture for meetings and events.

  • Support other departments such as Main Reception, Mailroom, Cleaning, and Café when needed.

  • Ensure personal hygiene and uniform standards are maintained at all times.

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve service delivery.

  • Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, escalating when required.

  • Support security procedures, including building lock-up duties where applicable.

  • Be flexible to cover holidays and sickness within the team.

What you bring

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic IT literacy (email, Microsoft Office).
