Job Summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for a receptionist to join the team at Tiptree Medical Centre on a part‑time basis for 20 hours per week.

Flexibility to cover other shifts is required.

About Us

We are a friendly, busy and innovative practice in north‑east Essex. The team comprises two supportive partners and seven salaried GPs, a nursing team of four Advanced Nurse Practitioners, one paramedic, four practice nurses, two HCAs, two clinical pharmacists and one pharmacy technician. We serve approximately 12,000 patients in a semi‑rural setting with flexible, family‑friendly working patterns, generous annual leave and free counselling support. We collaborate as part of a Primary Care Network with Mersea Island Medical Practice and Rowhedge Medical Centre.

Responsibilities
  • Book appointments.
  • Greet patients.
  • Answer queries from patients and outside agencies and signpost to appropriate staff.
  • Update patient records.
  • Process correspondence.
  • Liaise with patients using various communication methods.
Experience & Qualifications

Experience

  • Providing customer service.
  • Reception experience – preferred. Experience in primary care is a plus but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to use computer systems.
  • Experience with SystmOne is desirable; full training will be provided.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Friendly and positive approach to patients and visitors, in person or on the phone.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education including Maths and English.
