Job description

We are excited to recruit into an administration opportunity within Women's Services to support our Antenatal Clinic area.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and maintain an efficient and reliable 24‑hour admissions service for women attending the Maternity Unit.
  • Provide an efficient out‑patient service for women attending the Maternity Assessment Unit for urgent out‑patient and day‑case care.
  • Ensure patient documents are prepared and delivered to the maternity unit in a timely manner.
  • Provide admissions information to patients, relatives and staff.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries promptly.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to patients/visitors on arrival at the hospital.
Reference and DBS requirements

All references from current and previous employers will be sought and must cover a minimum of three years employment. When completing the reference section of your application form, please give the address, telephone number and work email address of each of your current/previous line managers that cover three years employment. Failure to complete this section may result in your application not being processed.

It is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay.

About the Role

We invite enthusiastic, self‑motivated individuals with a positive attitude and excellent computer literacy skills to apply to join the Admin Team to support with all elements of pathway administration – registering patients, making appointments, taking calls and supporting with reception duties are all part of a typical day’s work – along with other tasks allocated on a roster basis.

Within this role there are a clear set of instructions to follow for each part of the roster, therefore the ability to follow given instructions and pay attention to detail are a must.
