A healthcare provider in Wallington is seeking a motivated receptionist to join their administrative team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be computer literate. Responsibilities include assisting patients, managing appointments, and performing clerical duties. Experience in healthcare is preferred but training will be provided. This role offers a supportive environment and opportunities for professional growth.
We require a reliable, organised, motivated individual, to join our friendly and dedicated reception & admin team. Candidates must have excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone; be computer literate and able to work under pressure.
You should also have the ability to multi-task in a busy environment. Previous experience of working in General Practice would be an advantage but is not essential, as the right candidate will receive appropriate training. The Practice uses EMIS web as their clinical system and uses ACCRUX to receive Website requests online from patients.
Main Responsibilities
We are a medium sized Practice that has recently relocated to a new purpose built building. We have two GP Partners, Health Care Assistant and Practice Nurse. Since our move we have been growing rapidly and therefore have the need for a new member of our receptionist team.
The practice provides a good working environment, friendly staff and good training and development opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities:
Openingup/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance withpractice protocols
Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointments system
Processingpersonal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephoneconsultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcareprofessional
Processingand distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
ProcessingWork Flow items on EMIS
Dealingwith incoming emails
Sendingout emails
Takingmessages and passing on information
Filingand retrieving paperwork
Processingrepeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
Actively reportinghealth and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
Keepingown work areas and general/patient areas generally clean, assisting in themaintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope ofthe job holders role
Demonstratedue regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Ordering,re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies
Dealingwith clinical waste
Provisionof refreshments for staff and visitors as required; loading and emptying thedishwasher and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
Keepingthe reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free fromobstructions and clutter
