A healthcare practice in Liverpool is seeking a Receptionist to assist in both reception and administrative tasks. This role involves patient interactions, appointment management, and administrative support within a busy medical environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in administration and working with the public, coupled with GCSE qualifications in Maths and English. A friendly and team-oriented attitude is essential to thrive in this supportive practice.
An exciting opportunity has become available within our Reception and administration teams at Westmoreland GP Centre, we are looking for a joint role (two days reception & three days admin) to join our team! The Practice is situated in North Liverpool with close transport links, were we offer care to almost 12,000 patients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who thrives in working as part of a team, the department is fast paced but very friendly, and although we are a busy Practice we like to ensure our staff enjoy their time at work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care navigation to patients. Duties will include face to face interaction, telephone enquiries and various administration tasks such as scanning and coding. You will undertake all aspects of the receptionist role and work effectively within a team dynamic.
The Practice is on the grounds of Aintree University Hospital and consists of 5 Partners, 4 salaried GPs, 3 ANPs, 1 Paediatric ANP, 2 Mental Health ANPs, 2 Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Paramedic, Physio Therapist and 2 HCAs plus a full administration and reception team.
The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments.
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.
Signpost patients to the correct service.
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
Scanning post received by the practice onto the clinical system.
Clinically code data on the clinical system.
Photocopy documentation as required.
Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required.
Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary.
Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards.
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
