Job Summary

Due to retirement and recruitment in the practice, IG Medical are looking to recruit a receptionist based at both our Ilkley and Grassington Practices. We are looking to recruit 2-3 receptionists for the following shifts: Monday 7:45-6:15 (Grassington)*; Tuesday 8-4 (Ilkley) and 7:45-6:15 (Grassington)*; Wednesday 12-8 (Ilkley); Thursday 8-4 (Ilkley); Friday 8-4 (Ilkley). Shifts marked * could be split into a job share for the right candidates – 7:45-1 and 1-6:15. Main duties of the job

As part of our friendly Reception team you will be responsible for providing an efficient reception service to our patients. We are looking for individuals who are committed to a patient‑centred, open and fair approach to the quality assurance of healthcare. You must be able to use your own judgement, have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receiving and directing of patients on arrival
  • When necessary open and close and secure premises
  • Handle general enquiries and make new and follow‑up appointments
  • Responsibility for helping people with non‑medical problems. Ensure that appropriate attention, care and time given to patients, particularly the elderly, and issue relevant details of services available to them
  • Answer telephone and deal with or redirect enquiries to appropriate staff
  • File and retrieve medical records
  • Registration of new patients and temporary residents
  • Take requests for prescriptions, change of address etc
  • Pass on information re unsolved or urgent problems
  • Photocopying
  • Use computer as per practice policy
  • Liaise and provide clerical assistance when necessary for attached staff
  • Read emails, notifications and tasks daily
  • Assist with any other duties of a Clerical or Administrative nature that may be required of you
  • Previous experience of working in an office/healthcare environment would be desirable; full training will be given

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
