Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Answer telephone support and deal with patient calls.
  • Operate IT EMIS, NHS Mail, Anima – dealing with patients’ requests submitted electronically.
  • Front‑desk greeting of patients and consulting with members of the practice team.
  • Administration: filing patient notes and updates as necessary (e.g. change of address).
  • Photocopy as requested.
  • Assist the practice with monitoring and ensuring daily tasks are completed up to date.
  • Processing post and other correspondence efficiently and promptly.
  • Provide test results to patients.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members, patients, healthcare professionals and external parties, adapting where needed.
  • Answer and ensure all calls are answered professionally.
  • Registration of new patients.
  • Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone, online and in person using our Anima system.
Person Specification
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer‑service knowledge.
  • IT proficiency.
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a GP practice.

Schedule and Pay

Pay: £12.60 per hour.

Expected hours: 20 per week.

Schedule: Monday to Friday.

Monday 7.45‑12.45

Tuesday 13.30‑18.30

Wednesday 13.30‑18.30

Friday (alternate weeks) 7.45‑12.45 / 13.30‑18.30

Work Location

In person. Predominantly at Pilning Surgery with potential need to work from Almondsbury.
