Job description
Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic administrative assistant/receptionist to provide reception and administrative support to a busy Sexual Health, Contraception and HIV department for 37.5 hours per week. Working as part of a friendly admin team you will have excellent communication skills and be able to work calmly under pressure using your own initiative, with an ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Greet all visitors attending the reception area, ascertain their requirements and respond to those requirements accordingly.
  • Clarify demographics for every patient contact face to face and via telephone and ensure systems are updated regularly.
  • Enter clinic attendances and outcomes onto INFORM in the identified timescales and to the identified standards.
  • Book appointments, update attendances and action referrals.
  • Maintain the reception and waiting area to an orderly state at all times.
  • Answer telephone calls courteously and politely, direct enquiries appropriately and take messages as necessary. Liaise with other departments where appropriate.
  • Arrange and respond to transport/Interpreter requests as directed. Maintain the confidentiality, safety and security of the reception area reporting any adverse matters to senior staff.
  • To work flexibly across the service as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • General education to a good standard along with previous experience of dealing with patients or customers.
  • A good level of computer literacy.
  • Good teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to cover sickness and annual leave, supporting an effective administrative service at all times.
Location and Working Pattern

The post would be based at The Hathersage Centre and travel across Greater Manchester to our spoke clinics is required. The post holder will work Monday - Saturday on a flexible rota basis.
