Job description

Evening and weekend working will be required to meet the business and guest needs, as our Reception is open seven days a week. In this role you will:

  • Provide a professional, friendly, and welcoming reception service for all visitors, students, and guests, ensuring they are greeted warmly and directed appropriately.
  • Manage telephone and email enquiries efficiently, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up of messages.
  • Support the smooth running of the College shop, maintaining stock, presentation, and alignment with Emerson College's ethos.
  • Deliver high-quality administrative support, including data entry, correspondence, meeting preparation, minute taking, and assisting with events, festivals, and College functions.
  • With experience in administration and/or reception, ideally within a busy and customer-facing environment.
  • With strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, students, and visitors.
  • Who is organised, flexible, and able to manage a varied workload with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • With motivation, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach, willing to support tasks ranging from everyday administration to festivals, events, and hospitality.
  • Who can demonstrate a high level of flexibility, including the ability to work evenings and weekends in line with operational requirements.
