Job Summary

Oakfields Health Group is recruiting a Part‑time Receptionist Administrator (20–25 hours per week) to cover maternity leave for 9–12 months. Fixed‑term contract. Salary £12.80 per hour.

Join a growing, semi‑rural practice located in the Derwentside locality of County Durham. The practice has purpose‑built premises with easy access from Newcastle and Durham, on main bus routes, and free parking.

About You

Receptionist Administrator responsibilities include:

  • Provide a welcoming point of contact for all patients and visitors, ensuring each individual accesses appropriate services or information.
  • Deliver efficient clerical and administrative support to the practice team and associated community staff.
  • Operate and maintain essential practice administrative systems and procedures, upholding confidentiality and data protection.
  • Control all patient files and related admin to required quality standards in line with information governance, GDPR and DPA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Show excellent customer service skills, a good telephone manner and strict confidentiality.
  • Have experience working in a GP Practice or healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Be able to travel independently between both practice sites.
About Us
  • Oakfields Health Group operates two surgery premises: Oakfields Health Centre and Dipton Surgery.
  • Patient list of approx. 7,600.
  • Core opening hours 08:00–18:30, Monday to Friday.
  • Staff: 6 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, and 2 HCAs.
  • Reception/admin/secretarial team across the two sites comprises 11 staff and 2 Service Managers.
  • Excellent dispensing service at Oakfields Health Centre.
  • Paper‑light SystmOne practice; consistently high patient satisfaction.

Job Locations: Hamsterley Colliery (NE17 7SB) and Dipton Surgery (Front Street, Dipton, County Durham, DH99DA). Working Pattern: Part‑time, flexible. Reference Number: A0061‑25‑0010.
