Job Description:

We are looking for

a motivated and enthusiastic individual to become a member of our Outpatient Reception team.

This role is 37.5 hours per week and would be split across the four Outpatient Reception areas of the Bristol Dental Hospital.

Duties include greeting arriving patients and their families, clinic preparation, and general clerical duties under the supervision of the outpatient reception team leader.

  • To liaise with wards, clinical staff, GPs, and Trust support staff in person, via telephone, and email as necessary.
  • To show a caring and professional approach towards patients, relatives, and carers, including acting with resilience to handle distressed patients and relatives empathetically.
  • To carry out clerical duties such as maintaining accurate filing systems, receiving post, diary management, and scanning patient notes if required.
  • To keep waiting areas tidy and patient information materials up to date.
  • To input appointment outcomes, including no-shows, into the Patient Administration System (PAS) and other relevant computer systems accurately and promptly.
  • To maintain confidentiality and discretion, complying with the Data Protection Act and Trust policies.
  • To be flexible and utilize skills in other functions when appropriate.
  • To adhere to Service and Trust policies and guidelines.
