Are you an enthusiastic, caring, and creative teacher who believes that a child’s first year in school should be filled with joy, discovery, and meaningful learning experiences?

We are seeking a Reception Class Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Barnet. This long-term position offers the potential to become permanent and is available for an ASAP or January start. It is a fantastic opportunity to nurture children as they take their first steps into formal schooling, helping them grow into confident, curious, and independent learners.

As a Reception Class Teacher, you will:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, imaginative lessons that support children across all areas of the EYFS.

  • Use observation and assessment to reflect on each child’s development and adapt your teaching to meet individual needs.

  • Support early communication, language, phonics, and mathematical understanding through a rich, play-based curriculum.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas and continue to develop an exceptional Early Years provision.

What We’re Looking For – Reception Class Teacher:

We’re seeking a teacher who is passionate about Early Years education and committed to ensuring every child has the strongest possible start. You will be:

  • A qualified teacher (UK QTS) with experience in Reception or EYFS.

  • Confident in delivering the EYFS framework through a child-centred, play-based approach.

  • Skilled in teaching early phonics (knowledge of Read Write Inc. is a bonus).

  • Reflective, creative, and committed to continuous professional development.

  • A positive, proactive team player who thrives in a supportive environment.
