Job summary

Stonegate Farmers Ltd seeks a dedicated Rearing Support Manager to join the Agriculture team and ensure successful rearing and supply of high-quality pullets. You will advise on flock performance, husbandry, nutrition, biosecurity and welfare, aligning with compliance and productivity.

Role involves collaborating with producers and internal teams, visiting farms monthly, and reporting on performance and opportunities for network growth. Experience in rearing production and welfare is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in rearing production with welfare, biosecurity and performance focus.

• Knowledge of free-range egg production systems and related legislation.

Responsibilities

• Support consistent supply of pullets by coordinating with Rearing, Laying and Planning Teams.
• Build relationships with vets, nutritionists, feed suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
• Provide practical, timely advice to egg producers and pullet customers.
• Prepare accurate reports, visit notes and performance summaries.
• Visit rearing farms regularly (monthly) and support pullet deliveries.
• Identify opportunities to grow the producer network.
• Uphold quality, innovation and ethical farming principles.

Stonegate Farmers are looking for a dedicated Rearing Support Manager to join our Agriculture team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with producers and colleagues across the business, playing a key role in ensuring the successful rearing and supply of high-quality pullets.

You’ll provide expert guidance on flock performance, husbandry, nutrition, biosecurity, and flock management – always with a focus on the highest standards of animal welfare, compliance, and productivity.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Supporting the consistent supply of first-class pullets by working with our Rearing, Laying, and Planning Teams.
• Building strong relationships with vets, nutritionists, feed suppliers, and equipment manufacturers.
• Offering practical, timely advice to egg producers and pullet customers.
• Preparing accurate reports, visit notes, and performance summaries.
• Visiting rearing farms regularly (at least monthly) and supporting pullet deliveries.
• Identifying opportunities to grow our producer network.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential Qualifications

• BEIC Lion Code Audit Certification (must be held at appointment or achieved within an agreed timeframe).

Essential Experience and Knowledge

• In-depth knowledge of rearing production farming methods, with a clear understanding of welfare, biosecurity, and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience working with stakeholders across the farming supply chain, including feed suppliers, breeding companies, housing/equipment manufacturers, vets, and nutritionists.
• Strong working knowledge of free-range egg production systems, including legislation, welfare standards, and management best practice.
• Hands-on experience in rearing production, from chick placement through to point-of-lay, with the ability to identify and resolve challenges quickly.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the agricultural or poultry sector.
• Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
