Job summary

Miller Maxwell is recruiting for an established proprietary trading firm building low-latency, real-time trading software using Java, C++, and Python. The Software Engineer will work across the full lifecycle, owning core platform services such as execution, order/position management, and market data, collaborating with Traders and Quants to push performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• A STEM degree required.
• At least 5 years of commercial Java or C++ software engineering experience.
• Experience with high-performance software.
• Algorithmic software engineering experience.
• Multithreaded software development experience.
• Experience in financial services is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work across the full software engineering lifecycle building and enhancing their real-time trading software.
• Own core projects building and maintaining their core trading platform services: execution, order/position management, market data.
• Work closely with front-office users including Traders and Quants.
• Work on latency-critical projects.
• Improve system performance and reliability.
