Role Description
  • Lead the full lifecycle of real estate development projects, ensuring each scheme aligns with the firm’s investment strategy and long-term vision.
  • The majority of these are commercial projects, however there would be some residential projects as well.
  • Oversee feasibility, design development, planning, procurement, and construction, upholding exemplary standards of quality, cost efficiency, and programme delivery.
  • Direct and coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors, fostering cohesive collaboration across all technical and commercial workstreams.
  • Provide expert guidance on development appraisals, risk assessments, and value-engineering opportunities to optimise outcomes.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, including local authorities, professional teams, and external partners, representing the organisation with poise and professionalism.
  • Monitor project performance through robust reporting, ensuring transparent communication with senior leadership and investment committees.
  • Champion compliance, sustainability objectives, and health and safety best practice throughout all phases of the development cycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the firm’s real estate projects reflect its commitment to excellence, precision, and enduring value.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience leading major real estate development projects within the London market, ideally across multiple asset classes.
  • Ideally must have experience working on the client side before.
  • Strong experience working as a Project Director.
  • Strong experience of commercial office projects.
  • Proven ability to manage full development cycles from early-stage appraisal to delivery, with a strong grasp of both technical and commercial drivers.
  • Exceptional leadership capability, with a track record of guiding multidisciplinary teams and influencing key decision-makers.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning frameworks, construction processes, regulatory standards, and real estate development principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, with a polished, discreet, and professional manner.
  • Evidence of delivering complex projects on programme, on budget, and to a superior standard of finish.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-calibre, fast-paced environment that demands sound judgement and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or chartership advantageous.
  • Must have UK experience.
