Role overview

Our Real Estate Digital team advises on best-fit, future-proofed technology hardware, software, network, IoT solutions and smart building systems, delivering cost-effective integrated approaches. We provide specialist services such as data centre moves and migration, IT project management and IT solution assurance. We typically sit between our clients and the construction teams to drive the development and integration of:

  • Fibre & Copper structured cabling solutions
  • Intelligent building systems
  • Wireless networking
  • Audio video and collaboration technologies
  • IoT and 5G
  • End user technologies
  • Data centres
  • Comms room development

We have a vacancy for an IT Project Manager to work with clients in the built environment, delivering projects that include developing and implementing organisation-wide digital strategies and advanced disruptive technologies into the built environment. This role is open to professionals of varying experience aligned to the responsibilities described below.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support on major IT Programme and Commercial Management Commissions, taking responsibility for all aspects of technology service delivery. Ensure client objectives are met and projects are delivered on schedule, within cost targets and to the required quality standards.
  • Work in partnership with clients to advise on how technology can address business challenges. Develop and articulate best-in-class, flexible and future-proofed solutions to business and technical decision makers.
  • Engage with stakeholders to manage design and coordination within the construction programme. Embed within the design team to drive the technology vision, strategy development, specification creation, cost models and related technical outputs.
  • Align technology delivery with RIBA plan of work and understand the commercial property sector, its pain points and areas for improvement with a focus on user experience.
  • Lead the client interfaces and other consultants at all project stages, establish success criteria (time, cost, technical and performance), and ensure governance and processes are followed.
  • Plan projects in detail, manage cross-functional project teams, facilitate effective communications, and oversee IT change control and project finances.
  • Prepare formal project progress and other reports; maintain working understanding of IT procurement and processes in construction/refurbishment environments. Schedule management for IT and IT-related installations (including AV, voice, cabling and building systems).
  • Identify and qualify opportunities to assist clients with their technology consultancy needs and contribute to new business efforts.
Qualifications

Key Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering integrated technology solutions as a project manager.
  • Experience across networking, infrastructure and third-party applications with a broad understanding of IT functions.
  • Ability to quickly master technical concepts and communicate them to varied audiences.
  • Resourceful problem-solver, leveraging internal and partner resources as needed.
  • Strong understanding of the APM Body of Knowledge.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, self-motivation, and strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and build relationships.
  • One or more of the following qualifications/certifications: APM Project Management, Agile Project Management Practitioner, or Prince2 Project Management.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering SMART buildings, IoT systems and OT networks.
  • Understanding of technical capabilities (Network, Fibre, SMART buildings, IT, OT).
  • Experience writing bid responses and presenting ideas in interviews.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with/within the commercial property sector.
  • Knowledge of the RIBA plan of work.
  • Security Clearance.
