The Opportunity

A well-regarded commercial law firm in central Manchester is seeking an ambitious and commercially astute solicitor to join its Real Estate Finance and Banking team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with 3+ years' post-qualified experience to take on high-quality work in a specialist team that is known for its strong relationships with lenders, borrowers, and real estate clients.

Working as part of a close-knit, partner-led group, the successful candidate will advise on a broad range of real estate finance transactions, acting for both banks and private lenders, as well as developers and investors. You will be joining a team that is highly integrated with the firm's real estate, corporate, and private client practices, offering exposure to a wide client base and varied, high-value work.

Role Overview

You will manage a caseload of secured lending transactions, including development finance, bridging finance, and acquisition finance, often involving complex funding structures and tight deadlines. This role offers an excellent platform for a motivated solicitor to build lasting client relationships and further develop technical expertise in a supportive and collegiate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting for lenders and borrowers on a variety of real estate finance matters, including acquisition and development finance
  • Drafting and negotiating loan agreements, facility documents, security documentation, and legal opinions
  • Managing transactions from instruction to post-completion with minimal supervision
  • Supporting wider transactional work including corporate acquisitions, property transactions, and refinancing deals
  • Liaising with clients, intermediaries, and other legal teams to ensure efficient and timely completion of deals
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and supporting junior team members where appropriate
Candidate Profile
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualified experience in real estate finance or banking
  • A solid understanding of secured lending, facility agreements, and real estate transactions
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to handle a busy, deadline-driven caseload
  • Strong attention to detail and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Confident, client-facing communicator who enjoys building trusted relationships with commercial clients and lenders
