Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a high-performing secondary academy in Reading to recruit a Teacher of Science for an ASAP start. You will deliver practical and theoretical lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 delivery depending on your specialization.

Working with a collaborative STEM team and on-site technicians, you will guide students through experiments, data analysis, and exam preparation, while fulfilling pastoral duties as a Form Tutor.

Qualifications

• QTS or UK teaching credentials.
• Honours degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
• Proven track record delivering KS3/KS4 outcomes.
• Up-to-date CLEAPSS health and safety knowledge.
• Enhanced DBS Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach KS3, KS4, and KS5 where appropriate.
• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons with practicals.
• Prepare students for GCSE/A-Level practicals and exams.
• Maintain safe lab spaces and equipment per CLEAPSS standards.
• Assess and report student progress through formal and informal methods.
• Fulfill pastoral duties as Form Tutor and support student wellbeing.
