Job summary

Ark Putney Academy is seeking a Reading Progress Tutor to join our team from October 2026. The role focuses on supporting students who need help with reading and assisting in the delivery of reading interventions.

The tutor will also help assess the English proficiency of students with English as an Additional Language. The successful candidate should have a degree or equivalent, excellent literacy in English, and experience working with children of relevant age.

Qualifications

• Degree level education, or equivalent.
• Excellent written and spoken English literacy.
• Proficiency in at least one modern foreign language.
• Experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver reading interventions to students identified as needing help with reading.
• Assist in delivering literacy sessions and supporting progress in reading.
• Assist with assessing English proficiency of students with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, possess excellent literacy skills in spoken and written English, be proficient in at least one modern foreign language and have experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment.
