Job summary

Swinton Academy is seeking a passionate individual to help embed a culture of reading across the academy and beyond. The role places the library at the heart of literacy development, working with whole-school leads to support students in improving reading skills and engagement.

The post holder will work independently, support intervention groups, and contribute to the development of young people’s reading fluency, using ICT tools including interactive whiteboards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and with initiative.
• Support student reading intervention groups.
• Develop reading fluency and contribute to a culture of reading.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside whole-school leads for literacy and reading.
• Be based at Swinton Academy but may work at other locations within the trust.
• Support the library as a core feature of the reading culture.
• Assist with ICT-enabled teaching and learning resources.
