Job summary

Moray Council is seeking a Librarian with leadership in reader development to deliver engaging programmes and outreach across Moray. You will work with communities, partners and other Council services to extend access to library resources and services.

The role involves developing services aligned to council priorities, training staff, organising events, and promoting reader development both online and on-site. Strong reporting and liaison skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified librarian or substantial library experience
• Ability to motivate others and lead project elements
• Experience in reader development services
• Experience organising events and outreach programmes
• Strong report writing and use of management information
• Knowledge of lifelong learning initiatives
• Knowledge of marketing and community liaison

Responsibilities

• Lead on development of activities that align with the Libraries Team Plan and Council priorities
• Motivate, train and develop staff in respect of development activity and services
• Develop reader development collections, services, and programmes online and in person; build partnerships
• Assist in selection, co-ordination, organisation, care and management of stock
• Lead planning, promotion and marketing of reader development programmes and outreach
• Ensure efficient administrative and financial procedures within areas of responsibility
