Job summary

St George's Primary School in Wirral is seeking a reliable Midday Assistant to supervise pupils during lunch and play, ensuring a safe, positive dining experience and supporting children's welfare.

The role is 6.25 hours per week during term time (38 weeks per year), Monday to Friday, 12:00–1:15. You will work as part of a friendly team, following health and safety guidelines and school policies.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience with children in a school or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and escorting children to dining and play areas.
• Maintaining good table manners and eating habits.
• Helping prepare and serve refreshments following health and safety guidelines.
• Promoting good behaviour and managing conflicts per school policies.
• Administering first aid as appropriate.
• Reporting incidents and safety concerns on the School MIS to the Senior Midday Supervisor.
• Collaborating with teachers and staff to support children’s welfare and safety.

We are seeking a dedicated professional who is passionate about our values and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our pupils.Your Role in St George's Primary SchoolWe are looking to appoint a reliable, committed member of the Midday Assistant team to provide care, guidance and support for our children during lunch time. The role involves supervising the welfare of children aged 3-11 in the dining hall, playground and classroom.The successful candidate will work collaboratively and respond sensitively and confidently to the needs of the children. The post holder must be self-motivated, flexible and a good team player, who is dedicated to ensuring that lunch time at St George's Primary School is a pleasurable and safe experience for our children

As a Midday Assistant, you will be responsible for:

Supervising and escorting children to dining and play areasMaintaining and demonstrating good standards of table manners and eating habitsHelping prepare and serve refreshments, following health and safety guidelinesPromoting good behaviour and handling conflicts or incidents in line with school behaviour policiesAdministering first aid, as appropriateReporting & recording incidents, accidents, and any issues concerning discipline or safety on our School MIS and to the Senior Midday Supervisor, as appropriate.

Collaborating with teachers and other staff to support children's welfare and safety.
