Job summary

IPS Group Limited is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of repair and reinstatement projects across the North Yorkshire region. You will monitor progress, manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to scopes, budgets and timescales.

Working with surveyors, insurers and customers, you’ll drive outcomes, resolve issues and maintain high-quality workmanship while upholding health and safety standards. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of domestic construction methods and repair techniques.
  • Ability to interpret scopes of work and repair specifications.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple property repair and reinstatement projects from start to finish.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure service levels and quality standards are achieved.
  • Carry out contractor reviews and support performance improvement where required.
  • Track project progress and proactively manage delays or issues.
  • Review variation requests and ensure works remain within agreed scopes and budgets.
  • Work closely with Surveyors to resolve technical queries and agree repair solutions.
  • Undertake desktop audits and site inspections to assess quality and workmanship.
  • Handle customer concerns and ensure clear communication throughout the repair process.
  • Support the management of major loss and urgent repair projects.
  • Maintain accurate project records and updates on internal systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and Building Regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contractor performance and operational processes.

A leading insurance repair and property reinstatement business is looking for experienced Contracts Managers to join their growing team.

This role is responsible for overseeing domestic property repair projects arising from insurance claims, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards. Working closely with surveyors, contractors, insurers and customers, you'll manage projects from instruction through to completion and play a key role in delivering a positive customer experience.

The Role

You’ll ideally have:
  • Experience managing property repair, construction or reinstatement works.
  • Experience overseeing contractor and supplier performance.
  • A good understanding of domestic construction methods and repair techniques.
  • The ability to interpret scopes of work and repair specifications.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a loss adjusting or building surveying environment.

  • Experience monitoring contractor KPIs and SLAs.
