St Philip's Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our Bank – Chilton Care Centre in County Durham. You will maintain the fabric of the home, services and grounds, ensuring safety, efficiency and a welcoming environment.

The role requires a flexible, hands-on approach with strong DIY skills, ability to manage contractors, and attention to health and safety records. Full training and induction are provided, with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

Maintenance Operative Bank - Chilton Care Centre

Our Residential Care Home is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance Operative to assist in the day to day running of a busy and vibrant care establishment.

Reporting to the Care Centre Manager the incumbent will carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to ensure that the Home is maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order.

Job Role

• To carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• To ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• To ensure all external areas and grounds are kept tidy and well maintained to ensure the smart appearance of the home.
• To supervise outside contractors
• To minimize costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining written records.
• To upkeep all health and safety records and the periodic testing of appliances and functional items within the home.
• Expectation for post holder to responds to emergency situations within the home

Candidates Should Have:
