Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting locum Consultant roles in General Medicine across the UK, with opportunities in Livingston and other regions. Flexible long-term or short-term assignments are available to fit your availability and preferences.

Applicants should hold MBBS or equivalent, GMC registration, and CCT in General Medicine, with DBS/PVG checks and UK right-to-work. On-call commitments and governance time are integral to the role within the NHS framework.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• CCT in General Medicine
• A current DBS check or PVG check, or willingness to undergo one as part of registration
• UK Right to Work

Responsibilities

• On-call commitments weekend and out-of-hours commitments to be agreed separately via the consultant on-call rota (anticipate one midweek on-call every 2–3 weeks; one weekend on-call per month).
• Clinical Administration Time supports governance, correspondence, MDT input and service development
• General medicine consultant duties including EMAs, ward rounds and MAU duties as per rota and NHS frameworks

1400-1700 - Emergency Medical Assessment (EMA) /Clinical Admin

Tuesday 0900-1300 - Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) Post take ward round

1400-1700 - EMA Admin

Wednesday 0900-1200 - Ward Round Ward 14

1300-1701 - EMA / Admin

Thursday 0900-1300 - MAU Post take ward round

1400-1700 - Clinical Administration

1400-1700 - EMA / Admin

On Call commitments Weekend and out-of-hours commitments to be agreed separately via the consultant on-call rota. Anticipate One midweek on call every 2-3 weeks. One weekend on call per month (long Day Fri & overnight non-resident on all from 2000-0830); Short day 0900-1300 Sat & Sun

What We're Looking For

MBBS or equivalent medical degree

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise

CCT in General Medicine
